Once the mask is done (and it’s done already, if I understand right the OP), clonings are just keystrokes:
ctrl-shift-Q adds a videotrack. Press 5 times to add 5 tracks.
ctrl-C copies the masked stuff, ctrl-V inserts into the selected track.
In few seconds we can have a dozen copies ☺

Moving them around is another process, that takes some time, I agree, but it would take some also in the graphics editor…

If those eye-sets are required to be completely static, I’d take the graphics editor (Photoshop?) way.
Having them all on different tracks however, enables to move them around later via trackmotion keyframes ????
So if those sets have to move independently, the multi-track way is the way to go.

    Hi,

If you don’t want to involve a graphics editor, as Graham suggested, and already done the mask in Vegas, simply copy the masked events to clipboard.
Then add a number of videotracks, so many as you need.
Paste the copyed event onto all of the tracks.
Now all those are on the same location on the screen, because all the tracks have the default position.
So chose the topmost track first, and make a movement via trackmotion. See, how a keyframe is automatically created at the current cursor position.
(You can move the cursor, and reposition the track, that generates kind of moving. Explore it if you’d like, but this is not necessary if you need those eyes in a static position ☺ )

Repeat this for all the tracks.
    Hope that helps ????

  • Hi,

Even if he had all those versions -which is not necessary true, for example I sold my Vegas 8 licence many years ago, and had only Vegas 10 for a long time and upgraded right to 13/14 recently. – Eve if he could switch back to 11,would not help much. V11 won’t open V14 veg file, thus he’ll lose edits…

The solution is to find the culprit that mucks V14 up.
We need more info to be able to help on this. System specs, project settings, applied FX’s, footages mediainfo, etc…

January 11, 2017 at 9:55 am in reply to: MXF files not importing into Vegas Pro 12 Why?

I would refine the sentence to use only that specific 3rd party codec, which is really needed.
Other wise agree, espacially codec packs are to be avoided!

  • [Erik Davis] “I was thinking that you need to get out of Vegas 14 and back to Vegas 13 or even Vegas 12.”

    Why?

Smetimes (say 5-6 times a year) I shoot some stage recording for schools. These are 2..3 cam shots, and Vegas10/14 never froze as described. The timeline is than 1 to 3 hours long. So that should not be the problem.
I suspect something with video driver, but I’m not sure of course…

    Hi,

    Unfortunately yes ☹
I posted Magix my screenshots about various situations where CPU/GPU loads are visible.
My footages are fullHD AVC (50p from my JVC HM600, 25p from a Canon XA10).

Read CPU/GPU loads (also note preview fps and secondary monitor toggle):

January 10, 2017 at 6:16 am in reply to: Adobe Premiere vs. Vegas Pro

    Hi,

After the learning course you both will know exactly, if there’s anything Vegas can do but Premiere not.
Without knowing Premiere I’d expect it to be in the audio range, if there’s any…

What I especially like in Vegas is the quick ability to trim on the timeline, and possible to apply FX on 4 levels:
    -Media level
    -Event level
    -Track level
    -Output level
    All those have their uses!
…And how the tracks can be organized into parent/child realtionships, and possible to moving the around in groups using parent motion…
    Sometimes that comes handy ☺

Are those in Premier present too?

Also, if there’s something the opposite, Premier can do, that Vegas can’t (other than integration with PS/AE) I’d aprreciate to know about.

    Successful, happy learning!
    😉

I have other issue with multicam editing, namely GPU is not utilized at all, if multicam enabled, and output to secondary monitor is enabled too.
That’s with the most recent (?) build of Vegas 14. (Magix support request fired…)
You could download GPU-Z, and check whether GPU is used at all in your situation? (It has thermal reading also, so if GPU gets overheated somehow you’ll know…)
BTW. did you receive any video driver update recently? (Possible rollback?)
How do you mean “after 15 mins”?
15 minutes of work after you loaded your project, regardless of where the playhead is, or is it near 15 mins on the timeline?

I guess you did start a DVD project. Try to workon a blu-ray project instead.
(File / New / – and look for “disc format” on the dialog)
