  • I’ve never had a problem, do you have an example of a scenario when they don’t work as expected?

Sounds like odd behavior. I’d trash the optimized media folder and the renders if you can afford the time to re-encode and re-render. That cleans up a lot of problems for me.

  • I shoot mostly with a DSLR and a separate audio recorded so I use sync clips all the time. I never considered using multicam when I just have 1 video angle. Maybe I’m missing something?

Thanks for the tip, that is useful.

I still think there’s a ton of things I’d use a CLI for, and it seems like it should be easily possible.

But that still requires clicking every transition, right?

Right now I’m making a slideshow. I’d like to grab every transition from the 03:00-09:00 and make it last 40 frames, and change the duration of each clip to 12 seconds. Would be nice to tell FCPX to do that with a command.

Thanks for the replies. Option-k does work. Changing the clip appearance mode has no effect. ‘ll keep investigating…

I agree that the workflow is questionable, but auto-deleting markers for any reason isn’t acceptable.

Hmmm, I don’t know. Looks like AIFF-C is the standard when converting from itunes:

    From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Interchange_File_Format
Apple uses this new little-endian AIFF type as its standard on Mac OS X. When a file is imported to or exported from iTunes in “AIFF” format, it is actually AIFF-C/sowt that is being used. When audio from an audio CD is imported by dragging to the Mac OS X Desktop, the resulting file is also an AIFF-C/sowt. In all cases, Apple refers to the files simply as “AIFF”, and uses the “.aiff” extension.

I can’t remember if I’ve ever used itunes to convert audio, I usually use quicktime. I’d suggest exporting it from quicktime and see if that aiff give you better luck.

What happens if youright-click the clip and do a reveal in finder?

What happens if you right-click it and open in the timeline?
