Just wanted to add this for peopling who are googling and getting to this thread – the trick listed does indeed work. I was having the same troubles with a DVCPRO HD 25P timeline but this fixed it.

If your tracking points in the footage then it shouldn’t be too hard to use that same tracking data for a clone paintbrush to get rid of the points. Thats only if a clone will work in your situation. If that sounds like you then I can give you the expression I’ve used for this same task…

Your quite right. In my tests I’ve been using a mesh warp to get around this and a trackmat to put a little hint of the reflections you can see on the cup back into the shot.

Not sure whether the mesh warp is really the best way to go though. Anyone know any other good ways to do this? (3rd party plugs maybe?)

Fair enough, but that doesnt mean that straight-out wont work.

For anyone interested I’ve solved my problem in a really weird way:

simply rename the files from .mov to .avi and then use procoder (or something similar) to convert to avi. I suppose the HDV codec is the same for both avi or mov, it was just that the system didnt want to recognise quicktime files.
