    Hi

Kind of a tricky one here. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

I’ve got a lot of HDV 1080 50i footage which has been exported from Final Cut 5 as quicktime files (using the HDV codec).
Now I’m stuck with trying to make these files useful in windows, so I can cut them in Premiere 1.5.1
With Quicktime 7 installed all I get when I try and play the files in a blank white screen and the audio.

    Anyone got any ideas??

    thanks
    Lindsay

QT7 for PC is a beta version, you can find the following quote on Apple’s QT page
quote]Apple recommends that you use QuickTime 7 for Windows Public Preview only for testing purposes on non-essential systems. [/quote]

Fair enough, but that doesnt mean that straight-out wont work.

For anyone interested I’ve solved my problem in a really weird way:

simply rename the files from .mov to .avi and then use procoder (or something similar) to convert to avi. I suppose the HDV codec is the same for both avi or mov, it was just that the system didnt want to recognise quicktime files.

There are more that a few things that don’t flat our work, I loaded it on a spare drive to test and there are a few codecs it doesn’t recognize right, talking to Apple tech support they said to wait for the final release.
