Hi, yes you are right about the budget! Well, I would say around $2500.00 max. Your tip about the FX30 is a really good one! I have heard that the Sony A7S III is one of the best and this seems to be better. Then again, maybe alot of people will be selling their Sony A7S III’s to get the new one, so there may be some bargains to be found 😉 Thanks so much for your input and suggestion.

September 17, 2015 at 3:05 pm in reply to: Using Nikon D5000 in my documentary to shoot remote interviewThank you. I’ll forge ahead with that camera as I don’t have it in a budget to upgrade and it’s not my camera 🙂 I will however use a secondary audio device so that we can ensure that the audio is good.
Thanks so much for your advice and input, that really helped!

September 16, 2015 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Using Nikon D5000 in my documentary to shoot remote interviewThank you. I’ll definitely look into the sound issue and make sure we have a secondary recorder. I’m wondering if this type of video will hold up in the more professionally shot interviews around it? or is there a technique I could use – for example, making the frame smaller or just using still shots instead of video… any ideas welcome.

September 12, 2015 at 8:51 pm in reply to: Creative backdrops for documentary interviewsThank you! Why Not green screen is a very good question. Perhaps I haven’t seen enough good examples of this being done. I have in my head mostly bad examples I think 🙂 Is this a way that you might approach this as opposed to going out to each individual in their own environment? I would like to have something creative and of course professional looking. thanks for your advise!

Hi, thanks so much for that information. I’m wondering, if you have a moment and don’t mind, is there anything from the ebay link below that you would recommend? I’m pretty lost in this area at the moment. Much appreciated!

July 8, 2013 at 1:35 am in reply to: Transparent background to import into premiere pro – not workingGood suggestion, I did import it and it looks fine, has the transparent background. I will look for the settings that may be causing that in Premiere pro. Thanks, that allows me to stop chasing my tail :.)
