Ummm when u open a HDV clip in fcp is it blank ie just white? I had that same problem a few months ago and had to put back some QT codecs that dissapeared back into the machine and it fixed it.. I’ll send them to u if need be. Hope it is a similar problem cause that is an easy fix. Hope that helps.

We are currently using a Samsung DVDr-120 out of a XpressPro with Mojo. It’s pretty easier play on the timeline and hit record on the DVD player. Does a feature length film well. Haven’t had any problems as yet.

February 27, 2006 at 7:25 pm in reply to: Avid Xpress Pro more unstable than FCPro?

I feel it is all about the user no the program. A novice will definately have problems, an experienced user usually knows what to do and how to avoid crashes. I do prefer FCP as i can’t stand the whole OMFi thing maybe cause i don’t understand it that well but as far as moving from workstation to workstaion and using different drives i think FCP has much better mobility. I’ve noticed Avid seems to have better rendering but anyway i am having the time of my life using both!

Yep the dongle for such a small thing is still very valuable as it will work all Avids i think. Very easy to secret out of a building. Hard luck. Don’t know anything about log info…
