Thx that is a handy little tool. So what would be the best compression if i was transferring from HD to film? Would it be the 1920×1080 10bit?

Hitting option L is the shortcut u shouldn’t have to do each pair individually. – Experts who roll their eyes have crumby jobs and need to feel good.

i think AVID is trying to fade in using heads/tails of the image which u don’t have.. U may want to set your in/out points a second or two inside of the end/start of your image. Not in front of the AVID at the moment but seems like a similar problem if u have not enough footage at the end of your clip to do a transition. Make any sense??? Good Luck

Hmmm just checking if u are running both FCP and AE at the same time cause that sometimes causes me problems with DV out. Hopefully the fix is easy as that. good luck.

Something in FCP5 is definately buggy. i have never seen a slug go green but i have had other things go green like a nested sequence or a random frame when jumping along the timeline. Do u have a blackmagic card? The only machine which has had any green activity at our ofice is the machine with the blackmagic card. Just wondering if there is a connection.

Oh Sean where were u 30 hours ago, when the original question was asked we could of really used your input then. Anyone know what the shortcut key is for the “Sean is a tool” effect? :p

Its amazing how much u learn & find through doing shortcuts. My boss who is an ACE would not sit on an edit with me unless i knew the shortcuts. It took me about a week to get all the down all the shortcuts she needed. Cut to me a year and a half later and i’m a 1000 times more proficient. I can’t believe I only found last week that if u hit b twice quickly u get the large blade tool that cuts multiple clips on multiple tracks. It just saved me a ton of time and a whole lot of RSI. I wish i had looked more closely at my FCP Keyguide place mat 8 months ago…
