Thanks so much for all the info! I am familiar with Xsan a bit and the fact that it makes sense to have tech help/planning to set it up..

    Some further questions..

    – is it possible to share projects like Unity where more than one person can be looking at a seq?
    – does it have the same workspace control as Unity where an administrator can easily setup and change ‘drives’?

    Thanks again!

Thanks for your insight! I think we are looking to do raid 50 for more speed.. FYI We are using a MacPro 3ghz and have the full 7.2 TB in the XSR. We are mainly working with DVCpro HD and 10 bit SD. Do you have any thoughts on where I could learn more on day to day issues?

And thanks for the iSCSI info! I will keep my eye out for it..

Thanks! Wish I could see into the future to see what SONY has got up it’s sleeve…

What are your thoughts on Plasmas?

Thanks so much for your help..

I am looking online at those options right now at B&H. They are looking good!

Is this plasma in the same family as yours?

Also, is the burn-in factor a reason to not go with plasma vs LCD? The price point on the plasma is definitely nice…

Is there any unnecessary loss in either technique?

Yes its running.. better than nothing, but renders of heavy fx are reeely slow. Soundtrack pro is ok so. Motion doesn’t run at all – bags out on the boot up. I am off to NAB this weekend and I am hoping to score the update there so I don’t have to send my discs anywhere.. just hand them off. We’ll see!
