    Hey all,

Wondering what are good workflows to get a 16 x9 DVCPro HD seq downconverted to SD 3×4?

I was planning on creating an SD sequence and dropping it in and resizing. I may need to do some shifting of images for new ratio.. Does this cause any bad side effects?

    Any other thoughts n trix?

    Thanks!

AJA Kona products do the downconvert on the fly in realtime.

Short of that, just nest the sequence into the SD timeline as you say, scale it down I believe 67% and then pan and scan as you need.

    Thanks!!

Is there any unnecessary loss in either technique?

Nope, you’re starting with a very high resolution image so dropping down to SD doesn’t result in loss. Kona cards just make it easier because you can just edit to tape from your HD timeline and the card will downconvert it in realtime to your SD deck.
