  • use wacom 6 x 8, but think a 4 x 5 (?) would have been a better choice for editing – especially using dual monitors. too much movement….

am thinking of shuttle pro to, but have some reservations – having got used to no control panel (after years of linear editing), i’m quite happy with jkl – but am willing to be convertued….

    thanks gary and chris.

i’ve passed the info on, and if i get a chance i’ll stand over his shoulder when he tries……

i suggested he simply goes sepia – but then again, i’m lazy.

    thanks again,

    thanks chris.

i was beginning to worry there for a while.

well, you’ve also saved me some money since the only reason i could see for upgrading to 6 was the hope they might have fixed the problem.

as it is, it’s a real unadulterated pain since most of my work is now with edl’s.

and extra three keystrokes for every entry is one thing, but forgetting one a nightmare!!!

    gud on ya,

    all the best,

well, what a lot of advice! thanks everyone!

as it turned out i did the following

used womble wizard to extract dvd to mpg (no video re-encoding, but got mp2 audio).

loaded above into v5 as default ntsc project then rendered out as pal dv.

    results look pretty bloody good.

would have been much better if they could have supplied original master thouigh…

thanks again for all the help,

    leslie
