maxtor one touch – usb okay?
hi gents,
just got an alternative to a bottle of scotch for a job well done – a maxtor one touch 200gig drive.
i see it’s got both firewire and usb2. the only cables i got with it were firewire 6>6pin, and usb. my laptop has only got a 4pin firewire. so, will usb be fast enough, or should i buy a 6>4 pin cable and use firewire?
all for dv dumps from camera on location – no editing (but could i?)

I’ve used both without problems. USB2 has a faster max speed but Firewire is better at sustained rates – I’d get a 4 x 6 cable.
