You don’t need Sync N Link nor Lumberjack for that.
If the audio guy puts the proper labels in his recording device, it will be available in FCPX, and then, it would be really fast to assign roles in batch.
There is no way to be faster with tracks doing this unless you have one mic for all the characters.Leo Hans

I totally agree with you but in one thing: I don’t think editing hollywood features are the top-professional goal of an editor. It may be if you are cutting features.Every single kind of video has it’s own amateur and pro editors. You can be the Oscar winning editor for a film but you may fail cutting a TV show or even a wedding. Again, every single video category has its own particularities and thus needs experience in that particular field. One may need the most poetic narrative sense from you, but other may need more speed, or more compositing knowledge, or more documentary experience, etc.
So, I do think that hearing about every success story is good, but big budget films are not the only one source of that.

It’s just a little bit of humor, but I still prefer FCPX over PPro.

Oliver,
Steve Jobs once stated just the opposite.I recall that on an interview with Walt Mossberg Steve Jobs said that iPhone’s competitors don’t get the picture because iPhone and every Apple product is not about hardware but software. In fact, he stated that Apple is a software company.
This a quote from SJ:
“People who are serious about software should make their own hardware.”

That’s true, but don’t forget that it was their first versions in the Apps Store.

I don’t think it’s going to be a paid update for several reasons (just speculation, of course):
– Apple’s goal with FCP is not to make money with the application itself but selling macs and with media content distribution.
– Apple wants to gain more market and still need to push FCPX forward.
– If you look at Apple’s apps in iOS or App Store you’ll find that all of them are updated and upgraded for free. The only exception is Mac OS, but don’t forget that it comes for free with every new Mac and you need to pay for it only with “old” computers”.Leo Hans

Oliver,
I don’t think you need Xto7 if you have X2Pro and EDLX
Change List X?
Hawaiki + Natress Color? (Not to mention the option to have DaVinci for free, just supposing FCPX color correction is not enough).Leo Hans

So you can make FCPX effects/transitions using Pixelmator?
After creating one, do you need to have Pixelmator installed? (f.e. using the effect in another computer).
Thanks!Leo Hans
