  • Because I wasn’t thinking and checked out Adobe CC and some others but missed that one. Also, I didn’t do a time machine backup so I’ve got what I’ve got… Why they can’t just do a simple driver update though is beyond me!!

Thank You Sir! This IS, overall, more of what I was looking for and to do. I enjoy Avid but I just need to learn the ‘Avid way’ some more.

HI, I just renamed my .MOV to .MP4 and it worked like a charm.

Please try that and let me know what happens.

Yes Transparent or semi-transparent. Like ABC’s logo just to use an example.

I’ll look at blending modes but I have to be honest it’s something new to me so I’ll have to play around to see what results I get.

Here is the CBS logo and I want the same kind of colorless look to the bug that I have created, minus the black around it.

    Appreciate the Response!

    Hey Everyone,

One last thing that I’d like to add is that I spoke with another person today and he mentioned that his buddy has the exact same problem that I do. If you go through the boards here and at the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Forums there are Many people who are having this issue as well. (Yes not everyone)

So the bottom line is that there is a Bug in Premiere that is effecting some users- myself included- that needs to be fixed and not just blamed on Windows 7 indexing, background programs, or needing 4 hard drives on your system, etc.

Adobe will need to address this so that we can properly use what we purchased.

My next task is to uninstall/reinstall and try to use Version 5.01 to see if that makes a difference, but I Politely ask Adobe to look into this and release an update or a patch, something- anything- for the many users that have been experiencing this problem.

Seems to use the FireWire fine for capturing, (Importing), but has issues when going OUT of the firewire and into an external device.

    Adobe… Please!

    Thanks

    Lee.

    Hi,

I removed both SpySweeper and AVG and it didn’t make a difference. Unfortunately I think that it’s my built in FireWire port that is losing connectivity and since I have no open PCI slots I cannot get a new firewire card. All I have is one PCI E x4 and one PCI E x16.

Therefore, unless I’m missing something, all I can do is send this back to HP, as it’s still within the warranty, and wait weeks for a whole new Motherboard since this is a built in one, and HOPE that it fixes the problem.

I’m going to try the Repair/Modify or if need be Uninstall/Reinstall but since it happens on CS3 AND CS5 I don’t neccesarily know why I’m doing it. I guess just to try all things out.

Again even if there is no tape in the deck or camera I see my timeline footage in the Viewfinder or lcd on the deck but then the screen goes blue for 5 seconds or so and then ‘comes back’ so that I can see the timeline again on the deck or camera. So wouldn’t that suggest a Connectivity issue more than a program issue??

Thanks Much for Your Help and I’ll keep working on it. IF anyone has any ideas for a fix or workaround Please let me know.

    Take Care!

    Lee.

PS. Perhaps when I reinstall CS5 I’ll keep it on 5.01 instead of doing the 5.02 update… Again just trying any and everything. 🙂
