I use Waves X-Noise for that. Never tried it with wind though. If you can post a relatively short wave sample somewhere I can give it quick run through that plug and post it back.

Maybe you misunderstood but I think it only works with NVDIA cards, not ATI. I too have an ATI card so it’s no good to me either.

Yeah. 🙂 I don’t have 9 on this system but I’m downloading 10.
Below is a link to a screenshot of it in Vegas 8… but of course you can change it there to something more useful. I’ll see if it’s 10 or not when I install.

I’m on 8 here on my laptop and it’s default CTL+SHIFT+U. It’s the toggle for ignore event grouping.

Great! They “graced” me through to 10.
As relates to current projects I’ll probably just do a “Save As” and keep both project versions until I know everything is kosher. Easy enough to do that and not lose a project file.

On the softer parts split the audio track, normalize the clip, and use the volume handle to set the relative volume. I’d advise doing that before (or instead of) adding a compressor or similar to the entire track… bringing them more into line manually.
If Vegas’s volume handle went up (added gain) from the 0 point like most audio editors you wouldn’t have to normalize but it doesn’t, so normalize the soft clips and pull it down to generally match levels.
After that slap on a compressor if you want. YMMV but I don’t find that automatic levelors generally work as well without some manual editing first.

Or (duh!, sorry) – this just occurred to me – try some other DAWs like Reaper (https://www.reaper.fm) that load video. If the audio track plays fine there just extract it there and use that file in Vegas.
I’d try the above first before trying to record it.
