I just upgraded to version 9 on Sept 3 and of course a couple of weeks later they announced version 10. I emailed Sony about that and got no response.

What is the typical grace period for Vegas. I’m at like, 38 days… and I’m not really inclined to pay another $140 dollars.

    Any idea?

What are the views on the ‘risks’ of making this upgrade – especially if part way through a project on Vegas 9e? I mean, Vegas 9 wasn’t stable for me until version e. What reassurance is there that 10 won’t need a few updates before it functions properly?

I played with the trial of Pro 10 yesterday and I feel that it’s the best version of Vegas I’ve seen in a very long time.
Conventional wisdom says that you never upgrade part way through a project so only you can decide whether you want to make the jump or not.
If you haven’t already done so, download the trial and see what you think of it.
If you do play with your existing project, make sure to immediately save the project under a new name so that you can still open it with Pro 9.

Great! They “graced” me through to 10.

As relates to current projects I’ll probably just do a “Save As” and keep both project versions until I know everything is kosher. Easy enough to do that and not lose a project file.

    Thanks for you help guys.

[Lawrence Farr] “Great! They “graced” me through to 10.”

Gotta love Sony for doing that for you !!
