    Tom, Rafael,
Thank you both for your solutions. I have Flip4mcHD and MPEG streamclip – both of which work well. But I’m puzzled as to why I can’t find or choose the Ensharpen codec from Techsmith anywhere.

Or is this just me needing a new set of spectacles?

    Joe, thanks for your reply.

I have all the images in multiple standard formats:
.hmr, JPEG2000, tiff (GEOtiff, TIFF64, tiff), png, dtm, .bil,. I can have any of these rendered out to whichever format I would like.

So you suggest automated object movements?

    Thanks for your patience,

    Lawrence

Thanks John. I guess this is going to be one of the traditional technological slogs. Nothing like a challenge though…

    Jeremy,
I’m being swamped with help! I wish you guys worked for my company…less said the better on that front.

OK, I’m trying to give them a taster – a MASTER file, if you will. They only need to sit back and watch. No editing is required at all.

    Many thanks,

    Tom,

Many thanks for your swift reply! The settings I am using to export to QuickTime are Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i50.

Please don’t start pulling out your hair with this beginner…I’m doing my best to convert the client from trad. WMV to something better!

April 28, 2009 at 11:25 am in reply to: Cleaning up your Hard Drive post production

Many thanks to all that replied with help.
After nearly two months I believe I’ve come up with the answer to this and a couple of other matters that were affecting the production of WMV’s.

After talking with Telestream, yesterday on how Motion kept crashing out with the message along the lines of “The WMV Flip4Mac plugin is causing errors..” I contacted support at F4M and received a new build of F4M HD Studio and this appears to have cleared up both performance and production problems.

Reading this, it appears a little odd that a plug-in could affect overall machine performance and production but since installing F4M Build 2.2.3.4 my mac is currently running lickety split and WMV production (while disliked intensely)is now possible without waiting for “Unknown rendering time” messages appearing.

I’m bemused but a happy camper.

    Regards

    Thanks Vince,

I have F4MHD Studio but I think I’ve found the answer here. It would appear that even in the latest version of F4M the plist files can corrupt and so deleting them and restarting has seemed to sort things out.

    Thanks again,

March 21, 2009 at 5:32 pm in reply to: Warning Dropped Frames dialog

    Zane,

Media drive, media drive… terminology…blast! OK, my primary hard drive has 300 gigs of free space and my scratch disc has 1TB of free space.
I write all of my work to my scratch disk so that my primary hard drive is only for my system ‘stuff’…

I was thinking access time for my drive?

I’m going to go and look back in my cup and try and gifure out what the tea leaves are trying to tell me! 🙂

    David,

I’ve just tried what you mentioned and, literally, it’s awesome (like a hotdog – if you know the inference). WOW!

One happy bunny here – let the ‘games’ begin!
