It doesnt seem to be a specific function more than a time thing – about every 2 hours or so functionality is gone – I believe it is a conflict with the Wacom driver – thanks for your help – has anyone else seen this problem?

    Thanks

youcan copy the effects of one layer to another by copyingthem from the floating effects window – however, keyframes don’t go with it – you could also duplicate the layer, select the dupe, and drag your new layer onto that holding the option key which should replace only the footage, leaving all effects, including keyframes the same – the trick is to have the dupe layer selected when you option-drag – does that help?

Sadly, the thing I miss the most is the promise and anticipation of “new” things – with hardware and software what it is today – I expect more and am impressed less! Five years ago, if I saw that FCP5 multicam demo or dynamic RT demo with the 16 layers of HD – I’d of been floored – now, I’m like “yeah, that sounds about right for where we are today – LOL

That’s an interesting work around – it just sux because on top of that, I also have two layers of shine animated along that same path and would like those rays to blur as well – I will ook for those filters and try that work around – its really corny to have filters that mimic motion and not be able to blur them – what’s the point? I don’t know – thanks everyone – you helped me a lot!

That’s exactly what I was trying to avoid! but I guess there is no way around it – what I have is a layer of text which I traced with a mask and animated the stroke of that mask to reveal it – a write on – but I also copied reveal to the flare center of a lens flare and since it moves fast, I wanted it to blur (I modified the flare to look like heat, say from a torch – I needed the offset thing to work to avoid having to create an enormous layer in PS to fly a camera by instead of keeping it smaller nd using offset to add to the sensation of speed, etc….anyway, thanks for the help an quick reply
