I’ve been away from AE for a while…

How do you copy all effects from one layer to another?

    Thanks!

youcan copy the effects of one layer to another by copyingthem from the floating effects window – however, keyframes don’t go with it – you could also duplicate the layer, select the dupe, and drag your new layer onto that holding the option key which should replace only the footage, leaving all effects, including keyframes the same – the trick is to have the dupe layer selected when you option-drag – does that help?

Another way is to select all of the effects in the Effect Controls window and choose “Save Animation Preset” from the Animation menu. This will save the effects and any keyframes applied.

    1. Copy/paste the effects from the effect window

    2. Copy/paste the keyframes
