    First, I’m on a mac.
Apparently, when I save as tga and then re-import into photoshop CS2, the alpha channel is gone.
Which is why I thought it didn’t work.
But when I import tga into AE it has returned!
So I can use it in Zaxwerx.
Layer mapping works very nicely, too.
    Thanks again, Serge. Problem solved.

thanks Serge! I’ll have to figure out what I’m doing wrong with targa. I’ll have to figure out how to use layer mapping correctly. Thanks again for your patience. L.

Thanks. Dunno how to attach a file to this post, or I would.

Targa and Pict have no alpha channels.

I’m talking about a picture with an irregularly shaped alpha channel. Either a psd or a png. Like, frnstance, a skyline (with the sky as alpha channel). That’s what I mean.

targa amd pict and jpg must be trimmed rectangular & no alpha channel.

Yeah, and the setting never has been changed. It’s always been, and remains, “errors only.” So where are the errors which ocurred with the “failed?” And why did it all suddenly stop logging as of January this year?

thanks, Frank! I’ve found a place to rent a reel to reel that plays at 3 3/4 (or is that 3 1/4)? anyway, it’s the right ips for the tape. It has an rca out. There’s an M-audio box that has a usb out. There’s also my i-mic. He played it using Sonic Foundry and a pc, and it came out with two very different tracks in stereo. Which is good. Which is what I want.
MY QUESTION: If I import with i-mic will I get the two distinctive tracks? THANKS.

Frank — I’ve been told that there’s some kind of noise on Nagra footage, regular beeps or something and therefore it can only be played on some special machine. Not true? Sync is not an issue. These were voiceovers.

Thanks. I now have a new and different problem. I’ve located and obtained the original Nagra tapes. How do you playback/transfer them?
