I’m still using my years old SB live.
It’s sound quality is so much superior
(at line in and line out) to my mother boards
(Asus p4p800 e -deluxe) 7.1 channel audio.
I’m listening to it with a Sennheiser HD475.

not the same, looked (or sounded)
dependent on the filtered audio
somehow…
I was afraid of an error.

It seems easyer to use than cooledits
noise reduction, the effectivnes seems
to be similar.

Ooops.
I have it installed, and also used sometimes
(played realmedia with media player).
I just thought it could work
with vegas…

Here you can download real alternative.
This installs a directshow codec for realmedia,
so – I guess- vegas can import realmedia files.
After that you can do anything with it.

If not, check it, otherwise try other sample rates
(44.1, 48 etc)

I thought you want to edit an already rendered file, let’s say
because you lost the source footage.
If yes, go on.

At least I myself didn’t find another way to alter a divx
file, just recode it to anything Vegas can eat.
Mjpeg or huffyuv avi is one of the choices, and are not so highly
compressed as divx. You can figure out
other solutions as well.

20 minutes of 720*576 25 fps (MJPEG) video (PAL) is a bit more then
2.3 GB. Is this highly compressed? ;))

I guess vegas treats somehow different, while rendering versus
playing from timeline.
I had similar problems using ati rage fury pro vivo.
(While you play, there may be some
time correction somwhere in directshow, which is not present
in render time.)

Nowadays I have better hardware, but please,
believe me, the problem is in capture,
just does not get manifested until you want render.

Give a try to virtualvcr, it stopped me pulling my hair
out. :))

And capture to avi using some fast codec, mjpeg or huffyuv.
Capture audio as uncompressed.
DO NOT capture to mpeg.

Divx is fast to decode,
you should choose a codec
wich is faster to encode.
Try Morgan Multimedia MJPEG,
it’s horribly fast, and very good
quality at encode and decode.
It is free for 60 days.
Vdub and vegas works fine
with it.

I just want to recommend you
virtualdub.
That’s a tiny, fast tool
for getting out video from divx.
And it’s free.
