Perhaps, I’d create 3 copies to the same brand media,
one into the baking player, another on top of it
(gets some heat too), and a 3rd one to be stored
in a cooler normal place.
And see, when the played one is gone, what’s

The media is forgeting:
1. you write to it over the max speed it supports
2. your writers laser is getting old and power of it
reduces, thus the writing is not perfect
3. the media is defect in materialTry writing far below specified max speed.

There’s no real answer.OK, you review it more times, but the importance of those changes you find to make are always getting less, they are more minor at every review.

Usually when I just like the things on the timeline, then I go further.
When I rendered it, make the DVD of it, and burn it ot
REWRITABLE media.I have a look at it on a standalone DVD player and a normal TV.
This is somehow different from looking at it on computer,
really don’t know why.At this stage I note the errors and my dislikes on a piece of paper.
I always find some mistake in the final product, either a cut or transition that could be better done, or something in the DVD’s menu
structure…
(There are always some errors.)I go back to editing and rerendering if necessary, burn to rewritable again.
At this second review I usually find it OK.This is the time when I show it to others, when it’s about a work
for a 3rd party, I invite the client to my home and watch the final
product together.
Make some cover for the DVD, for this there’s no recipe,
what enters my mind…When he/she/they like(s) it too then just burn it out,
this takes couple minutes (15..30 minutes).

I get about -63 dB from my SB Live’s line in.
Input is linked to the amplifiers line out,
and input gain is screwed up to max.If I decrease input gain (which is necessary by about
10..15 dB if I don’t want a distorted sound) the noise
floor decreases too.So the actual SN ratio is about 70..75 dB which is
muuucch better, than that you can achieve with any
analog source (FM tuner, cassette player, analog video
/VHS, Hi8 etc/, or LP /vinyl/).So If you plan only to record sound from such an analog
source, this category will meet your needs, thus saving
some money.If you plan to record from digital sources, (CD,MD,DAT, etc)
go for the higher quality card.By(t)e

Not sure if it’s good for you,
but what if you keyframe a text (media generator)
plugin.
On every keyframe you can edit the text,
(adding one letter)
and assuming it’s not many pages long,
this solution is suitable…
And this gives you the typwriter effect.

I never use music that contains lyrics.
There are lot’s of instrumental musics, for e.g.Fourplay,
Shakatak (a few of their songs)
Mezzoforte (almost every of their songs)
Yanni,
Michael Allen,
Jeremy Cohen,
Jacques Loussier,
maybe Mancini (Henry Mancini do you know him? :)))and so on, this could be an endless list.
Consider sometimes using classical music

This is why every of your work is uniqe, this is not an assembly line, editing video (including home video) is close to be an “art” (if it is not.)

I don’t know… As I first look at a footage, I know at that moment, which music will fit for it well…
Listen to your music collection often, you have to know it well.
Another point is that, -to be honest- I reuse my musics.
To make this clear: not on one DVD, but let’s say a DVD made for someone contains a music (Let’s say a Wedding march by Mendelssohn (you can find this in “Midsommer Nights Dream”), another DVD for
someone else can contain it too.“I probably made about .006 cents and hour for the videos I finally completed.”
This is only a problem if your main job is video editing.

If you do it as a hobby, be happy that you can do it. Not all people can do it, even if they get some videostudio software bundled to their camera 🙂 So, if it is a hobby, don’t make it for money, but make it for YOUR joy, and…

But don’t force it if you temporarily lost your inspiration.
Just start other projects that you take fancy to. And always work on that project for which you have the most inspiration.(Unless you work for a 3rd party and you have a time-limit to get it ready – but this is not the “hobby” situation)

If you make it with joy, your heart and soul is in it, they’ll like it. But consider to show them a DVD-RW, wether they like it. If not, you can modify it.
If do something I give a kind of “satisfaction guarantee”, that means I won’t take any money for a DVD if they don’t like it.

This is not my point of view.So, what if the answer is yes? What will you do then?

You should always do your best.If I don’t like something, until I dont
find it perfect, I don’t let anyone to
look at it.
If I got it perfect (and only then!), I usually show it
to my wife, and maybe some third parties.
And when they like it too, I can say it’s ready.To be honest, there was only one video which I finished
in a day, it was only about 3 minutes long…My parents had a trip in the Czeh Republic (Praha, Kutnahora and other small towns) in september.
I finished editing it’s video not long before christmas…OK, I didn’t do it all the day, and meanwhile there were
lots of other things to do, but if I had do it (and nothing else)
all the day, it had took at least a week, or even more…The most important is that I like the result, and they like it too.
