Sorry to bother u guys with another simple question but since i have a trial version of vegas it doesn’t seem to come with the Boris Grafitti LTD.

I currently use mediastudio pro 7 and it has some really useful title animations one simple one I use a lot is a typewriter kind of effect (used a lot in news and sports channels)

In vegas 6 (trial) the titler (not boris) has no animations. The media generator (which is quite good) has a wipe in animation which is ok but not the same as the type writer effect

I was wondering if boris graffiti LTD that comes with vegas has this type of animation preset

And another one how do you split/separate an audio track from the video track

    Any Help greatly appreicated

“And another one how do you split/separate an audio track from the video track”

Select the audio, the press “U”

    Or in menu Edit/Group/Remove from.

    Thanks for that, thats great

The only main thing that prevents me from buying vegas is the animation of text letters in vegas. I know Boris 3 and 4 has loads of animation presets but i want to know if the LTD has any because i dont want to have to buy another product just to do simple letter by letter animation such as a type writer effect

From Boris’s website it gives a comparison chart of Boris LTD vs 3 vs 4 and it shows that under animation presets for LTD it is only capable of “title containers”, Anyone know what these are

Its a shame Boris is not included in trial

    Any help greatly appreciated
    thanks

Not sure if it’s good for you,
but what if you keyframe a text (media generator)
    plugin.
On every keyframe you can edit the text,
    (adding one letter)
and assuming it’s not many pages long,
    this solution is suitable…
And this gives you the typwriter effect.
    Without anything extra to buy…

Thanks for the suggestion Laszlo but i downloaded a trial of borris graffiti 4 and the effect im after in it is called “smooth fade” under the text flyin section. It doesnt look like this is included in the LTD version. Its a shame because there are so many good things about vegas but i think im gonna go with ulead media studio 8 since the text animation i want are well integrated. It lacks the audio (especially the panning and scrubbing) and composition effects of vegas but since i have adobe after effects thats not such a big problem for composition effects

thanks all for your help in vegas ill keep an eye on future versions

There are many options available for text in Vegas. Beyond Boris, you also have Cayman Graphics and Heroglyph that will integrate directly on the timeline. For standalone programs, BluffTitler and Cool3D are a couple of options.
