April 3, 2006 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Increasing stereo separation

What you really want is give a stereo crosstalk with a – sign.

So let’s say L,R are values of the 2 channels, l,r are the new values of the new channels.
    Then l=L-p*R r=R-p*L
p is the constant that describes the crosstalk.
    Should be between 10…50%.
This will give you the effect you want (stereo wide).

This process can be very easily done in cooledit via channel mixer, at the moment no idea how to do it in vegas…

    Thanks for your input guys,

[Kym Mac] “I have an LG HDD/DVD recorder – RH7823W”

I asked the man, he told me he has an LG recorder with a 250G harddrive. No other info, so the type remains unknown to me.

I guess this device is not FULLY compliant, at least DVDA does something mistake, that just doesnt hurt other players…

I didn’t have any problems with my discs so far, this is the only one player, which -consequently- refuses to play my creations.

For just this case I won’t switch to any other DVD creator (nor encore, nor ulead).
He’s going to buy a cheap player to be able to play my discs 😉

    Thanks guys!

Gary: it sounds funny, but probably a good idea.
I just have to color the water, so that I can see
only it’s surface, not the sink below… :))

    Jeremy:
    Thanks for the link!

    https://www.artbeats.com/prod/product.php?pg=4&id=394
    and there sea328.

I’d need some similar waves, but without sky, and a “bit”
    closer to the water.

    Glenn:
    3-4 sec would be enough.
What I want to do is a “dream” effect.
So that the image is blurry, and waveing, but
the intensity of the waveing gets lower until
the imge is stable, still blurry and a bit foggish…
If you can email it to me, many thanks.

has over 2 gigs of space, I guess it’ll fit there 🙂
    Thanks.

    Hmmmm…
Maybe tha capture hardware/driver defaults to a color standard,
    which is not detected/supported?

I mean NTSC versus PAL or SECAM, or vice versa.

Just for curiosity – which would be the cheapest, yet acceptable
    analog-fw converter?
(If not a DV cam with passthrough?)

    Thanks

[Allen Zagel] “What’s Kerio? A firewall?”

Yes, and it ‘s quite good. I’m completetely satisfied with it.

You can download it from kerio.

[Doug Graham] “Geez, everyone is so anti-Norton”
    This is not exact.

I’ve used for years their Personal Firewall (the 2001 or 2002 version, can’t remember).
Fine-tuneable, very good firewall the best firewall I ever used
    -after AT guard.
But not compatible with XP, so I decided to Kerio, it’s free (exactly- the most important portion of it is free, the full version is not).

Also the Norton Speedisk was a great defrag tool!
(I have an old version of it, last time on Win2k used it,
    didn’t try on XP yet)

I also used NAV, but IMO it’s security/reliability is down-below.
I got more times bad, harmful worms so that I had reinstall – beside the “protection” of NAV.
That’s why I recommend against Norton AV.

Other tools of Norton (Symantec) may be, and probably are good products.

Could you upload a sample somewhere?
Or mail it to me at
    kovacsltmeister(at)gmail(dot)com
1 sec is enough, but beware of resolution.

I suspect some interlace problem, but not sure until
    I didn’t see it.

I’m using Kaspersky AV 5.0.388 without any problem.
I don’t have to turn it off while using Vegas.

I’ve heard the best is NOD32, maybe you can try it,
I’ll do the same when Kaspersky expires.
