    Hi,

A DVD created with DVDA3, burnt with Nero, gives navigation error on a clients “hyper-super” HDD standalone DVD player/recorder, when a menu button is choosen.

Any other player plays the disc well.

    Anyone had similar problem?
Any trick to stay compatible with such a player/recorder?
The same recorder plays also other menu based factory-made discs well, it has only problems with my discs.
    Hmmmm…

I have exactly the same problems with one of my players. All factory-made DVD movies without any problem. Only my own with DVDA3 created DVDs have this – all of them. But it is an old player and so I thought this might be the problem. Have to try Encore when I have time.

This problem seems to be very similar to the one reported under the thread “Problem playing DVDs created by DVDA”, 15th March by Declan.

Was the DVD Burner an LG model by any chance ?

I have experienced a very similar problem. I have an LG HDD/DVD recorder – RH7823W.

A DVD recorded with DVDA and with two menu options will start but a ‘menu navigation’ error occurs if I select the first item. The second item plays ok. The same disk works perfectly on my cheap Chinese ‘Celestial’ DVD player and on any of my PC software-based DVD players.

I also have ULead Movie Studio and it generates a DVD that works perfectly in all players.

I sense a pattern developing here and it seems to point to LG’s implementation of the DVD standards. I hope there is some parameter that can be set in DVDA …

    Thanks for your input guys,

[Kym Mac] “I have an LG HDD/DVD recorder – RH7823W”

I asked the man, he told me he has an LG recorder with a 250G harddrive. No other info, so the type remains unknown to me.

I guess this device is not FULLY compliant, at least DVDA does something mistake, that just doesnt hurt other players…

I didn’t have any problems with my discs so far, this is the only one player, which -consequently- refuses to play my creations.

For just this case I won’t switch to any other DVD creator (nor encore, nor ulead).
He’s going to buy a cheap player to be able to play my discs 😉
