For Mac Folks you should think about posting a Quicktime movie file using the H264 codec. you need QT 7 but it will blow the doors off of both formats and make a much smaller file. Use a setting of 30% on the slider. It looks great.

If you download flip for mac there should be a free plugin that will automaticly open a WMV using quicktime for us Mac users.

I thought the chase video was pretty funny. Is that just the HVX200 or did you also buy a wide angle adaptor? I just got my HVX200 today and it dosen’t seem as wide as your shots. I might be wrong though.

Is this a common problem that happens with this camera?

Wow I did read the reviews and not a good place to buy those cameras or anything else. What is the going street price for this camera. I saw some good deals at the NAB show but didn;t have the money to buy then. I know B&H Photo is a great company but they have always charged retail price. Visiting their website I see the camera was $5500. Has the retail price of the camera dropped to $5500 or is it still $6K

    thanks,

Don’t have the camera yet but what I have read on the boards. When shooting at 1080i I have heard the image countains more noise then the 720 version. People with the camera can tell you more about that. Since you are going to film you might want to take that in to your thought process. More grainy video image added to the grain of your film.

    Just my 2 cents.

Here is an article that I found. It is not here yet but they got it to work. Holographic disc storage. Pretty much a DVD sized disc that holds 1 terabyte or 200 single layered DVD’s the articles says. 1 terabyte would be about 1000 munites of HD for this camera.

I had also been think about that. The 2 ways I was thinking was DVD’s or this box AJ-HD1200A. It’s listed for $21K but I can dump to it. I was getting ready to buy the 1/2 rack DVCPRO 50 deck and with the options it was going to be around $10k. The extra money to have tape back up is worth it. Plus if you use this equipment in your business then it would pay for it’s self one day.

Interesting, now I know more about it. But, I still don;t know why it takes 2 AAA bateries? If it is just a lens attatchment that allows you to attach a lens, why the need for batteries?
