Glad all worked out for you, at least in the long run. Other settings in the track header can effect the entire track and cause the issue you were experiencing. Compositing Mode and Track Motion, not to be confused with Motion Tracking, could make an entire track appear to be invisible.

If the problem is isolated to to a single video track, insert new video track above the bad one, copy all clips from the corrupt track (select to end) and drag them up one. Delete the old track from the project.
BTW.. the track “header” has a slider for transparency, all clips on that track are effected. Have you checked that?Good luck with your project.

OK. I had already tried all that. 5 mos later I figured out what I was doing wrong. I had added the transparency AFTER I imported the graphic into Vegas. Typically, when a change to a graphic is made in PhotoShop, even AFTER it has been imported to Vegas, the changes will be reflected in the imported graphic. Not so with changes to the transparency. If a graphic that has already been imported into Vegas needs the transparency touched up in PhotoShop, it is necessary to REPLACE (reload) the graphic in Vegas for the changes to take effect. This has been causing me some frustration for a very long time, but I am a very slow learner. -
Try naming the the .vob file to .mpg
You might try ripping the DVD, dragging the VOB file to “Total Video Converter”, convert to avi file and move on. That would be my solution. I believe TVC can be used on a trial with limitations.

Thank you for the advice. I can use that method, that I wasn’t aware of, instead of the copy / paste method I have used previous.
But….. What I was really asking about concerned how to copy the font size, style, effects, etc., attributes of a text block WITHIN a graphic event, to another text block within the same graphic event.
And…. How do you get a thick drop shadow or even a wide edge around a font in ProType Titler. Glow and drop shadow don’t really seem to achieve the results I expected.

For what it’s worth. My render times have not changed from Vegas 7 to Vegas 8. My system is Q6600 quad processor, 4 gig ram. Render times for AVI to MPG2 is about 2x.

What extension do the fonts that don’t carry over to ProType titler have? .TTF? .PFM?

Thank you for the suggestion. The fix won’t work for me though because the fonts are already in my C:windows/fonts.
They appear in PS CS2, Vegas 8 “text” media generator but not the ProType titler.
All the TTF fonts in my windows font folder work with ProType Titler but none of the .PFM fonts. While both type work fine in the Vegas 8 “text” media generator.
Is the ProType titler limited to TTF fonts only?

Vegas 8 can be installed on your PC without removing Vegas 7. It does not write over Vegas 7 during the install the way vegas 7 wrote over Vegas 6.
That being said, Vegas 8 should be better software for HD editing. So download the trial. Cost nothing and is full featured till it expires.

I have not used Vegas 8 with RAW HD video. I will defer to someone that has for the rest of your questions.
