  • Do lists of new features for FCPX appear in the Premiere forum?

Do you mind stating your procedure for getting iChat theater to work? I couldn’t get it to work at all.

It’s working fine on my system. I loaded a project, checked that external monitoring was working (Black Magic has new drivers) and exported a file. All works as expected.

There were reports from long time Mountain Lion beta users of no issues with FCP.

There is nothing in the update that mean much to me. I upgraded due to OC disorder.

By the way, I have upgraded immediately every single time the OS or any of my business software (FCP, After Effects) changed.

I have read the endless descriptions of elaborate procedures for upgrading, involving multiple boot drives, etc. and multiple backups.

I always thought those were a waste of time. I have never had a single problem and estimate I have saved many many hours at the risk (which I was aware of) of rebuilding my system.

    Installed.

Everything seems to work fine including FCP 7.

You should see a new option in the Black Magc control panel itself (the text below the option actually mentions FCPX). you must first set this to your desired HD setting and THEN the new resolution will show up in FCPX prefs (after restarting the app). Finally you have to turn on AV in FCPX.

Please reply back if this works or not.

Am confirming the same poor results here.

Would be very nice if Nate would mention what card/software he is using.

    Thanks,

I haven’t yet had a chance to try this but I wonder if you might need to UNINSTALL and then install the new stuff. I will try that shortly.

    Hi Chris,

That wasn’t meant to be a pissing contest type of comment, just that there is nothing inherent in the magnetic timeline that might preclude an editor from editing (even though he or she might bristle at the metaphors used in the software). That’s all.
