I didn’t think I got mine either because I didn’t get the email and it doesn’t show up under “my products”. But when I went to “products not yet downloaded” it was listed there. Maybe the same for you???

Oliver I’m getting a very similar issue in a new project, retina MacBook Pro, and a FireWire 800 drive using either proxy or optimized media. Footage in the browser plays back fine and skimming is smooth for the most part. However if I go to play the sequence I get a 1-2 second delay if editing off the internal ssd and up to a 15 second delay if the media is on the external drive. I think it might have to do with some sort of preloading, as the delay gets longer the earlier in the sequence you start (although its only a minute long sequence). I’ve tried trashing preferences, using a different drive, and transcoding the media but nothing seems to help much. The lag makes the program extremely irritating to use.

Thanks for the idea but that’s not really what I’m looking for. I’d like to have separate clips for each take and be able to use the built in scene, take, and more columns. If there’s anyone out there using a double system setup, what workflow do you use?

Technically they can work off the same hard drive but I wouldn’t suggest it (unless you’re working off a server). Best thing to do would be to capture everything to a drive, clone that drive, copy bins to a new project on the other computer and have each editor work with their own copy of the footage.

I think you can do it online too but call this number 1 (800) 800-2843 (avid support) and I believe it’s option two followed by option two. You’ll need your system I’d and activation code.

You can map track toggles to the keyboard but I can see where that can get problematic. I too would be very interested in seeing anyone else’s solutions.

Option/alt click on any slider or tab and it shoult reset it to the default.

  • Your final cut settings view>video playback. If you want it to take up your computer monitor you’re looking for digital cinema desktop preview.

  • Command F12, but your video output settings have to be correct as well for this to work.
