The Avid is usually 720 x 486, lower field first – is that the size you made it? Try a test, create a white xo traveling across the screen over 3 seconds; render one out upper field, and one out lower field. Import both into the Avid to see which looks good and which stutters.

    Hope this helps,

From what I understand, you’re able to load the model, but it has no textures? If it doesn’t you’ll have to re-link them by clicking the shaders or add each one….

    Hope this helps,

You can still use it. Just use a Transfer Mode on the curved video…. Perhaps add a moving reflection to it also….

You might want to look into using Shatter for this. The brilliant Ayato has a tutorial using images (https://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae31_e.html), but you can also use the same principle for text.

On the Light that you DON’T want to cast a shadow, you can uncheck ‘cast shadows’, and have it cast on the Light that you DO want. These are global settings though, so I don’t think you can have a layer accept one light while ignoring another if both are on.

Okay, I figured out how to make the swirls… I was using a 2000 x 300 images as my color map. When I pre-composed it to 720 all the controls were more manageable. NEXT question: is there a way for the swirls NOT to be so uniform? I’d like to have some randomness in the space of the swirls….

    thanks,

    I always create my comps and PS files at 720 x 540 (square) , THEN drop the final project into a 720 x 486 before I render…
