I need to rephrase the question somewhat. I will be using an external monitor( and possibly the laptop’s in a 2 monitor situation).It has to be a laptop as I need a portable computer for speech recognition
( Both of these are very adequate for that purpose). I like the Asus better because it has a better reputation for reliability. It also has a 1 gb video card vs 512mb which I hope might make up some of the difference in processor speed. So I guess what I need to know is, will the Dell be 20% faster in processing different HD formats. If so I would have to go with it.When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro

I once made a movie that was 10 minutes long (piece by piece) on a hard drive that only had 1.5gbs of space! For the type of projects they are doing they should be fine. They should be disconnected from the internet and make sure no automatic programs or updates such as Norton can occur during the process.

The colors are so vivid there, it would be a shame not to use a 3CCD.
