    Hi Darryn,

Thanks for the heads up and we’ll definitely look into it.

Can you send your kernel panic log to support@blackmagic-design.com?

    Thanks

    Hi Matt,

It still does sound like you’re doing work that will require delivering a master on tape? That will mean you need timecode accurate insert edits and the DeckLink Studio with RS422 is still the better option. The Intensity Pro does not have RS422 for this.

    Hi Matt,

I don’t think the EX-3 does 1080p50. Can you double check that it’s not actually 1080p25?

Which Blackmagic Design capture product are you using, is this in Final Cut or Premiere Pro on Windows?

    Hi,

Sounds like the DeckLink Studio will be ideal. It’s got lots of analog connection options so you can connect to the BetacamSP but it is also a 10-bit HD card with SDI / HD-SDI ins and outs.

November 1, 2009 at 10:29 pm in reply to: Win 7 ETA?

    Hi Fredrick,

The release on the web was uploaded before Windows 7 was released, hence the readme notes did not include that. I’ll update it when I get into the office.

The XML is Final Cut Pro compatible and is largely based on the Apple’s XML format for ProApps except for additional bits of metadata we use solely for Media Express. You can open the XML file in Final Cut Pro which means you can log clips using Media Express and then bring the file into Final Cut Pro.

We will include EDL support in a future update.

    Hi Scott,

What is the exact version of drivers you have installed? You can find out by going into System Preferences > DeckLink (or Blackmagic) and it should tell you at the top of the window.

October 26, 2009 at 5:00 am in reply to: Which Playback Setting for 1080P

    Hi Robert,

I would still use the same play out settings as you’re doing for 1080i50 material. This will simply treat the output as 1080PsF25 as your monitor may not support 1080p25 video. Just make sure you turn off the Field rendering option in your Final Cut Pro timeline.

    Hi,

If this is a PCI card (not PCIe) card, then it will not support more than 2 Gb of RAM in your system.

October 20, 2009 at 2:43 am in reply to: FCS 3 and multibridge drivers questions.

    Hi Harold,

[Harold Chlewicki] “- Can I go directly to the 7.3.2 drivers after I installed FCS3 ?

Yes, you can go directly as all our drivers are standalone.

[Harold Chlewicki] “-Do we agree that I have to switch my multibridge OFF during all the process and then Switch it ON after I upgraded FCS and the multibridge drivers ?

No, leave the Multibridge on as there may be firmware updates to apply to the Multibridge. However, there will be a need to power cycle the Multibridge and you’ll be prompted to do so by the installation software.
