    Jon,

Great info and will be of help to someone someday. I thought I had put in my system specs but i did not. I am indeed on a mac and Lion no less.

I just returned from a meeting and relaunched Premier Pro and the “Lacie 1” drive is gone and now back to normal. I am just testing this drive out and have not named it according to our nomenclature yet but it is happening not only on the thunderbolt drive but on FW800 drives as well.

It would be nice to have the ability to remap the scratch disks at will.

I am having the same issue on my Mac. When I open a project , Premiere Pro promts me about my scratch disk being locked or unavailable and moving my media files to a folder in my documents. When I click OK and then look at the media Browser I see that PP has created another drive with the same name plus the #1 and all of my media is unavailable from the original drive.

I have opened Bridge, AE, PS ect and this is only happening in PP. I am sure it is something I am setting wrong in the prefs but it is driving me up the wall that every time I close out of a project I cannot re-open it without jumping through hoops.

  • Have you tried using the Breakout cables and going component into the monitor?

Exactly. When using the US3D in an editing environment with a MBP we have no options to display a video signal and have an external monitor at the same time. Like I said before, not a deal breaker for me because I am using the US3D for demonstrating image quality on broadcast monitors and for that it is truly awesome. But, when I am editing or compositing it would be nice to have the extra real estate.

Thanks for the response. Is the Video Desktop feature different than the “Extend Desktop” feature that I can enable when the output is not playing video?

    Thanks John,

Still no luck, I did a HD restore last evening and did all my OS software updates and permission repairs. I am now attempting to install CS 5.5 however the Adobe application manager is hung on the Installation Progress screen with no movement.

Went through the un and re install again, repaired permissions and still got the same resulting error. I might have to start all the way over from scratch. It’s a real head scratcher.

I am sure it is not the video card now. I logged in as the “Root” user and was able to open new and existing projects and save without the error. And, as far as Adobe is concerned they have verified that their software is working perfectly , in the Root, so that is all the support I can get from them.

When I try to do the update manually i get this error:

    “Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 5.5.1
    Installation cancelled. Error Code: U44M2P24”

It has to do with something in my user profile.

When AE loads I get this error:

    “AE warning: Unknown exception”

I’m kind of at a loss at the moment and have a lot of troubleshooting to do

You bring up a good point. I didn’t think of the compressor workflow and assumed the OP had used the EOS utility in log and Transfer.
