Thank you! This seems to have done the trick. I went up one pixel and it was clear. Down one pixel and it was clear. But the initial vertical pixel I had chosed was fuzzy. Sort of time consuming by at least it’s good now. Thanks.

I tested everything. It is definitely not a field issue or an interlacing issue. I finally took of the position change and left everything else the same and rendered it and the shot is crystal clear. Why is my footage getting blurry just because I changed the position? This simple project has turned into a full day of frustration. Any other thoughts?

Thanks so much for the feedback. I have a dual core G4 at the office and a new Mac Book Pro at home, which is also dual core. So sounds like this would be a very worthy investment for me. Thanks again!

Yes, I got it to work in a so-so way. I’m just not happy with the wind effect and I need to add some nuance to the movement I think. Is there documentation somewhere for 3d flag. I thought I used to have a pdf user guide but can’t find it and can’t find it on the site. THanks.

Thanks for your tips. Since greenscreen stuff seems so prevalent, clients think it’s a one click deal. And that begins to make me think that I just don’t know what I’m doing! I tried much of what you suggested but not all, so thank you very much for the comprehensive check list. I do have DV Garage as well and maybe will try with that again.
The footage, by the way, was shot on Beta SX and transferred to Beta SP. To the eye it looks very clean but in reality not so much.

There’s also an MPEG-2 codec for Quicktime. I think you can get it off the QT site. could be $25 or so. Then you can render to QT Animation in After Effects and bring into Quicktime and export as MPEG-2.

Oh thanks! I will check it out. I have After Effects 6 on my usual computer because it’s an Avid and I can’t upgrade for compatibility reasons but I have 6.5 on another computer so I will bring my files over there and hopefully make magic!!!
