Hi Paul,
There is a menu item, “relink media” under the media heading, but usually re-linking is automatic after redigitising. My guess is something else has gone wrong,
Can you list the steps you took to perform the redigitising, including the deleting of the old media ? That’ll help us with the diagnosis. Also can you let us know your software OS and hardware versions ?
Kind reagards

August 17, 2006 at 5:25 pm in reply to: DV Devices for the next Media 100 release and betaHi David,
We use DSR 20/40 machines as well as PD150/170 and the new Z1E.
It would also be nice if Media 100 could interface with firewire equipped DVD Recorders, but I’m guessing that that is probably a tall order.(unless it can already – I haven’t tried)
The sony HDV decks would also be desirable.
Thanks!

Hi Chris,
An alternative method is to digitise the footage at 32Khz as normal, set the hardware preferences back to 48khz, then re-import the audio with the “import” tool in the menu (rather than dragging) from you media folder. The import tool has a dialogue box that will allow you to convert the audio to 48khz. After importing you can re-sync the audio to the video on the time line.
This approach is good if the digitising has already been done and you either haven’t the time, or nolonger have the tapes to hand to redigitise.

Hi Greg,
Looks like AJA are releasing the new drivers for the cards in a few weeks which means there’s no hardware issues. I asked Media 100 about UB versions this morning and they say that they will be “announcing support for Intel Macs shortly”.
My gut feel is that this will be part of V11.5 due to debut at IBC (early september)this year, but that’s just a guess. Perhaps a UB version of V11 will come sooner.
Here’s hoping!

Hi markmoon,
Are you using PAL or NTSC?
How are you determining that setup is being introduced, and are the effects visible on a waveform scope on the SDI output?
When you say the record viewer is at “0” do you mean 0IRE or 0RGB ? (The two windows are generally different as they often default to illegal 0 RGB “superblack” rather than legal 16RGB video black when no clips are being displayed)

Hi Matt
Which version of OS and Quicktime are you using?
I don’t know if it will cure your particular problem, but a lot of reported problems with Cleaner (and others) crashing with Media 100 files have been cured by either installing or re-installing the media 100 software codecs. It worked for me!

Hi,
PM me on “ccow” at greengecko.tv
I’m based in London so your locale is a bit far for a regular commute, but can work from here. Mail me and we can discuss.
Kind regards

July 25, 2006 at 5:52 pm in reply to: whats the deal with Media 100i and targa file seq?- Take 2Hi Greg,
This is a long standing issue with imported image sequences. When you import multiple files into one clip, cutting or otherwise manipulating the clip causes the problems you mention as it loses track of the sequence. Even Boris can’t make proper use of image sequences if they are taken from the bin using the bin browser.
To utilise clips properly you need to “fix” them. I use the “render range to bin” function to make a proper clip out of them which can then be treated normally, but I’m sure there are other ways.
The RRTB method allows you to name the clip in such a way that it appears in the media folder under that name – great for media management.
