Hi Floh,
Thanks for the link – unfortunately that CPG is for Media100 HD only.
Still, thanks for looking.

Hi Jim,
For a quick and dirty pan adjust you can change the pan setting for a whole track in the Track menu (Pan Track).
For a more subtle approach and one that answers both you requests, use the Replace Media tool. In the Preferences menu select replace media and uncheck all but the Audio Level & Pan check boxes. Set the level and pan on the first clip, then Apple-drag that clip (or rather its attributes) onto the other clips you need to alter (the little blue replace media icon should appear as you hover over the clips). The only thing you need to be careful about is that this only works if the clip you are “replacing” is either the same length or shorter than the original clip – you can usually circumvent that though.

Hi Jim,
Put your clips on a 16×9 program, then use the ‘Conform Program’ option under the Media menu.
There you will have the option to make the new standard 4×3 and set the option of how it conforms the media to ‘letterbox’
A new program will appear with you clips rendered as leterboxed ready for play-out.

Hi Max,
[Maxwell Federman] ” Can anyone recall if the SDI option for the Vincent Junction Box will output SDI with embedded audio? “
No it doesn’t, I’m afraid, you have to use the AES/EBU audio in & out.
[Maxwell Federman] “Also, does the SDI output support output of typical (720×480 or 640×480) programs; or does it require media that was captured from the SDI input before editing??
“Anything on your timeline comes out of the SDI outputs regardless of source, but I’m not sure what happens in non-DV resolutions. Perhaps someone else can confirm?

Hi Brian,
You didn’t make it clear in your post, but are you using Media 100i or Media 100 HD? If it is the latter then it sounds like a mismatch between media & render codec settings. Check that your render codec is set to the same one that you used to capture/import the media in the timeline.
On the timeline Media 100 smooths out the differences between codecs on the fly, but this doesn’t happen in the Self -Contained export option.
If you can’t get around the mixed codec thing, try rendering a title across the top of the whole timeline and then exporting again, or use the Quicktime export function.
Hope that helps

Hi Matt,
It sounds like your Media 100 is set to internal sync. Open the Genlock window and check, if it is not, try setting it to external and see if that helps.

Hi Michael,
[Michael Slowe] “Kieran, why off list may I ask”
It was just that I wanted some specific info about the workflow without it bogging down the Media 100 forum. Chatting informally off-list just seemed more appropriate.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject though, so perhaps we could open this up to general discussion?

P.S. Thanks also to Chris & Michael (H) for your info – it was much appreciated!

Hi All,
Regrettably my problem seems to run deeper. Even new titles/effects in new programs in new projects display the same problem.
Either I am doing something daft, have got something weird in my system, or I’m just *really* unlucky.
