Running 12.1.3. Is there any command either at the bin or timeline stage to select a group of clips and change their pan or audio level settings? Working with imported P2 footage with audio that (obviously) is coming in panned to one side at a nominal 0dB. I want to set them up +3dB panned center. Its kind of a pain to do each clip individually.

    Hi Jim,

For a quick and dirty pan adjust you can change the pan setting for a whole track in the Track menu (Pan Track).

For a more subtle approach and one that answers both you requests, use the Replace Media tool. In the Preferences menu select replace media and uncheck all but the Audio Level & Pan check boxes. Set the level and pan on the first clip, then Apple-drag that clip (or rather its attributes) onto the other clips you need to alter (the little blue replace media icon should appear as you hover over the clips). The only thing you need to be careful about is that this only works if the clip you are “replacing” is either the same length or shorter than the original clip – you can usually circumvent that though.
