Hello,

Has anyone experienced the same visible verticle lines issue on a computer monitor? Is this normal because of the interlaced nature of NTSC, and the noninterlaced nature of a computer monitor?

Sorry about the problems with the Lacie drives. I have heard of similar stories with Lacie hard drives.

I use a G-tech, and I have been happy with it, and have had no problems with it thus far. I also have a friend in a recording studio who uses G-tech, also with no problems.

It’s fortunate that you could save your date.

Since our goal is to project the documentary in a theater, I would like the best quality possible.

Would taking it to some kind of post house produce a much better result than allowing FCP to do this?

Does anyone know of a post-production facility that would take DV format and then upconvert it to the format necessary for digital projection equipment in a theater?

Unfortunately, FCP tells me that it cannot read the EDL that I exported with Premiere 6.5… It gives me an error message after I open the Premiere-generated EDL in FCP.

I may need to reconstruct the film by hand, after I hand create all of the clips in a batch list in Ms Excel.

This is much more difficult and time-consuming that I had planned.
