Jeff, Just wanted to let you know your answer is still helping people 4 years later. I was pilling my hair out until I found your response.
Thank you

John, Are you creating the clips in the Juicer and then re-rendering them in the AVID codec? I don’t have these codecs available to me in the Juicer. I created a small partition off my main drive and installed Sierra and Digital Juice Juicer. It is the only thing installed on the os. Do I need to install the AVID codec for it to be available in the Juicer?

February 18, 2015 at 11:22 pm in reply to: Blackmagic studio camera B4 lens to MFT mount adapterI have just purchased 3 BMD Studio cameras. I will be using the MTF, B4 2/3″ to Super16 Micro 4/3 adaptor once they arrive. The lens I have been considering are the Fujinon HA13x4.5BERM HD 2x extender for wide work and the Fujinon HA18x7.6 BERM-M48 HD 2x extender, for tele. I am looking for input from anyone that has experience with these lens. I am moving up from consumer camera, so I don’t have experience with ENG lens. I want to make sure what I buy is of good quality so I will know I am making a good investment. I am not opposed to Canon lens, I just have a chance to get a good deal on the Fujinon 18×7.6 lens so I thought it best to find wide lens that will match well.
I am hoping there is an operator out there who can give me some guidance.

I just believe things should work the way they were intended, HDMI was designed to carry both audio and video!!!!!

That is what I do, but it would just be cleaner to plug my Juicelink into the audio in of the camera and HDMI into the Ninja. We know it is possible, because there are other cameras that have both audio and video over HDMI, but for whatever reason Canon choice not to include audio on this firmware update. But what is more perplexing is the fact that everyone seems to be ok with it. Hum!!! I’m not one to complain about little things, but I am beginning to feel like I am the only one who is disappointed with this upgrade. Ok enough!!!!

March 5, 2012 at 4:10 am in reply to: PHOTOSHOP, bringing all my HyperDeck Studio Dreams to Life!!!I do production with robotic Cameras (Sony BRC SERIES & Panasonic AW-HE100) that don’t have a built in recorder, so no timecode. This would be a perfect solution for me. I could fit 7 of them in a rack to ISO my cameras. Offload the media to FCPX, and have my edits done in no time at all.
Glad you liked my mods!!!!“Up Close and Remote”

Morgan, I use the JVC GY-HM100. I own two and rent two for a weekly Public Access show. I am able to put four stream of XDCam EX 35Mbps in a multicam and run it on a 2.5Mhz MacBook Pro with 4Gb of ram. The footage looks great. There are better low light cameras out there but for your price point this is a great camera.

That is very unfortunate, because you could connect a Adrienne AEC-uBox to the RS422 serial connector and feed LTC to the deck. I need 8 ISO recorders and this would work great, but I need sync’ed timecode. Maybe AJA will make a rack version of the KiPro.

Can you embed timecode in the sync signal? Also, is ProRes no long in favor? ProRes works with FCP and Premiere, but it is not supported.
