I tried card wipe, but it won’t work in this instance. The pattern is like a honey comb, so the rows and columns are interlocking. they’re not in a typical horizontal and verticle pattern that wave wipe would use.

The trouble I had with that earlier expression is that when I placed a marker on the layer, it rotated it to half way through the move, but it just stayed at that new position and there was no movement. I don’t think that expression will work for me as I would have to place 150 markers to make it work and then if I wanted to change the effect, I would have to move all 150 to do so. What I’m trying to do is have 1 null object that conrols all 150 layers quickly.

I tried that expression, but couldn’t get it to work.

An expression I was trying to get to work was to have the null object do the rotation, then have each layer mimic the null layer. I get that to work fine and all of the layers flip at the same time. What I can’t figure out is how to make a delay for each layer so that it creates the wave effect I’m looking for. My scripting skills are subpar.

It seems like it would be a simple expression where I just change the a number to make the move occur later for each layer. Could someone help me out and show me how to write such an expression. Much appreciated.

I thought about that Peter. I unfortunately haven’t been able to learn Motion yet. I have about 6 years of experience in AE. Would I be able to learn enough about motion to make it work for me by next week? I’m a pretty quick learner, but I wouldn’t want to go down a path where I won’t make the deadline. Any tips on how to to learn the replicator quickly.

We seem to be having the same problem. We have 2 machines attached to an Xraid via a Qlogic fibre switch and using Fiberjet. We have made a couple of updates lately – iTunes, QT, Xraid firmware, AJA software. We are beating our heads against the wall trying get it to work. Let me know if you figure out anything, and I’ll do the same.

Thanks for your replies. what we’re using this on is our collection of spots that we want to keep online for demo purposes. The problem is that they have been digitized by a couple of different editors that all brought them in at slightly different levels. So they all were sweetened originally, but they were just brought back into the system at slightly different levels. So instead of redigitizing from a huge pile of tapes, I was hoping to do a global normalization to savea lot of time.

Does this sound like the right way to go about it?

Our problem doesn’t seem to be associated with a specific application. Its an additive problem – gets worse over time. I could have After Effects, FCP and a Safari open and all of the windows will leave a light purple ghosting effect. It goes away when I shut down, but immediately starts to build up again as windows open.

If you have Soundtrack Pro, use the Effect called Space Designer. It will work perfect for what you’re looking for.
