thanks a ton Job. I guess I won’t buy a Mojo then. A Nitris DX would be perfect for me, but it’s too expensive and not exactly portable. Damn! Waiting to be able to use my AJA IO HD and MX02 with Avid MC 5.5.

I bought a FS 1770W shipped here to Singapore. Must say, I am impressed. Really good value for money. Like David says they write brilliant softwares for their monitors. You can’t go wrong with a FS. Happy shopping.

I second Nattress. For a software that does standards conversions, this is as good as it gets. Hardware conversion is better though, but expensive.

Thanks for the explanation Bret. From what I’ve seen of ProAnimator FX, it’s really cool. Would probably buy it after getting used to it. Do you know any other software that does something like this?

I’ve downloaded the demo version of ProAnimator FX. The only file it’d import is an Illustrator file. Am not sure if it’s because it’s a demo ver or that’s how ProAnimator works. So, I still have to open Jpeg or Photoshop files in Adobe Illustrator and save as an Illustrator file. Is AI the only way to go for creating logos for ProAnimator?

Thanks Tom. I’ll probably have to go with the FCP plugin, ProAnimator FX. It can’t be too different from the After FX ver you use. Will give it a go and keep you posted. It can’t import photoshop files can it? From what I know it can only import AI file for converting to 3D. Is there any work around? I get PSD or JPEG files from clients. Do I have to open these files in Illustrator and save ’em as AI files? Is that the only way?

Hello guys. I’ve decided to go with the Sounddevices’ USBPre2. Can someone advice me on a decent mic to buy? This would be used only for VO recordings for promos (for broadcast) and sports highlights programs and would probably be used with the portabooth. Am thinking about the Shure SM-58 but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ken, Ron and Shane. Really appreciate your feedback.
Ken, the porta booth looks interesting. Am going to try it myself. The only question is what mic am i going to use. This is for broadcast and the quality has to be good enough for it.
Has anyone used the Apogee One, Shure X2U or the MicPort Pro? Right now, I’m leaning towards the Blue Yeti or the Shure X2U. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks once again guys.Kannan Raghavan

Also Shane, do you think it’s worth the extra money in getting the Blue Yeti?
