    Hi Leo,
I’m assuming you’re going to grade using Resolve lite. If not, download it, it’s free. Although, it has a steep learning curve. I use HD-SDI connection from my Ultrastudio express to the monitor. Most guys I know use the SDI connector. S-video is pretty poor quality.
It’s also good to know what computer you’d be using, what format is your output etc.

+1 to what Mark said. Most SFX libraries or even the built in SFX in FCX would have this FX.

    Hi Douglas,
I was in a similar situation a while back. I went with Lynda.com’s PremierePro CC essential training. I know you’re looking for a trainer to come to your facility, but this tutorial is really good to get you started with PrPro.

    Hey Martin,
You should also consider another thing. FCP X costs $299, one time payment. You own the software. Premiere Pro CC is a monthly/yearly subscription, you rent the software.
I have both FCP X and PrPro CC and am happy with both:)

  • As Robert says, the markers come across to the timeline fine. In CC 2014, the markers are by default, a dull grey coloured. Easy to miss:)

I’ve just made the transition from FCP 7 to FCP X and PrPro CC2014 (still on the trial version). I like both NLEs. PrPro is easy to jump in, I can cut a project without any tutorials. But, tutorials do help a lot. It plays well with my BlackMagic I/O. I use PrPro for one particular workflow that I use for a big client of mine, for the rest FCP X. I hardly use AE, use Motion 5 for most MoGfx. I am beginning to like Prpro a lot. Will definitely buy the subscription soon:)

  • The Decklink Studio 4K is uded for capture and playout of Ultra HD/HD/SD video. The included breakout cable gives you almost all analog/digital connections you can think of.

  • So your PC is getting a single SDI output from the mixer. All you want to do is to get the video capture device to digitise video. Even a BM Decklink mini recorder can do that.
