It was an interesting post. I’ve been using numbers to sort bins and folders for a long time. I never thought it would become somewhat of a topic.

In case you had not seen this tip on new searching abilities.
Make sure you watch all of the clip, at the end they cover the searching clip types as well.

I stopped by Intel’s booth at NAB. They were showing I believe a Lenovo laptop with Thunderbolt. I thought the Intel person said that this was the first Windows product that will ship with Thunderbolt, with coming later this year.

It was interesting to see the video was different from the text instructions.
Outside of trying to impress someone with your ability to use Terminal, I’m not sure why you would bother with this approach. Showing the Package Contents and then editing the file with Text Edit seems not only easier, but less chance of typing something wrong.
So what’s the catch? If this is all it takes, why doesn’t Adobe do it? Is it because Adobe didn’t test the various other ATI configurations?

I followed your link and got lost. I don’t suppose you could spell out the required edits here in something easier to follow?

Ian,
When I choose Import From Camera, I can see all my drives listed under Archives. However, I can’t select any of them. If I choose Open Archive, I can navigate to and through the BPAV files, but I get an error.
I’m running 10.0.4.
What could I be doing wrong?

I installed both the new version of Browser and the FCPX plug-in.
Browser works fine, including sending to FCPX.
However, the FCPX plug-in is not working. When I choose Import …, I navigate to the BPAV directories and all I can do is navigate the files and folders. I can’t browse and import any clips.
Can you provide any suggestions as to address whatever it is I might be doing wrong?

I think this is (perhaps rather obviously) a huge challenge for the people at Apple. Do they ask themselves, “What would Steve do?” Do they start doing things they’ve wanted to do, but never did or could do under Steve? How will the loss of Steve change Apple?
One interesting change I noticed was Apple’s decision to start paying a dividend to share holders. If I have my dates correct, Apple started paying a stock dividend in 1987, right after Jobs was forced out. They stopped in 1995, right before Jobs came back in 1996. Now, they’ve started up again in 2012.

Perhaps there’s no correlation.
Although several of Apple’s top executives hold a great deal of Apple stock, which vests over a 10 year period. Paying dividends usually results in more interested buyers, which usually drives the stock price up. Having executive compensation based on stock price is good for shareholders. But it might not be good for the future of the company, it’s products, it’s people and it’s consumers.
Either way, we will find out.

I was hoping I was missing something.
One continuous over writing backup? So if my project gets corrupted and I don’t realize it in the 15 minute widow, I now have a duplicate of my corrupted project? I would like to understand the logic behind this.
I guess I’ll stick to my duplicate projects process.
