I have the same camera. Is the footage you imported HD or SD – I’m assuming HD due to this post’s subject..
Anyway, I don’t really have an answer for you as when I capture HD via CS3 it does so in MPG format with keyframes that keep the audio and video in synch.
but here’s what I do – sort of a “best practice” that I started way back when using Premier 3 or so..
I capture clips that are 5 minutes or less. CS3 makes this extreemly easy with the batch capture in conjunction with the import batch list. I basically wrote a macro in MS Excel to create the csv file for me given a few parameters, then I import, click, walk away. After it’s done I simply drag all of the clips to a new sequence. I’ve found that doing this (even with SD footage imported as avi) has no problems with the audio getting out of synch.
I don’t know if this helped or not but hopefully it did..
Oh, if anyone wants the macro I can neaten it up a bit and send it out upon request..
