December 15, 2017 at 7:05 pm in reply to: need a new professional monitor ( curved vs flat )I’ve been interested in the LG Ultrafine 5G monitor — about $1250 — beautiful image but really horrid user reviews. So I’m holding off till the Consumer Electronics Show which takes place Jan., 2018. They should be announcing new monitors then & there…

Unfortunately the Pure Focus T-Gel has been discontinued: here are a couple of typical comments from the Lancome site:
PLEASE BRING PURE FOCUS T-ZONE POWDER GEL BACK!!!!
I have been using Pure Focus T-Zone Powder Gel for years. It was the only product that helped mask my oil complexion and large pores and made my face look smooth and flawless. This is probably my absolute favorite beauty product and i have always recommended it to all my friends and family. I was is disbelief when I was told that this product had been discontinued. I was recommended other comparable products but none have lived up to Pure Focus T-Zone Powder Gel. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring this product back!!!!!I am writing about Pure Focus T-Zone Powder Gel, which was one-of-a-kind and the only one on the market. It was a life-saver for those of us with oily skin, especially in hot climates, since it made skin look matte and clean for hours. I was very disappointed and surprised when this unique and winning product was no longer available. The alternative Lancome products are not as good, although the Pure Focus Fluide Hydrantant comes close, at least in winter. Please bring this back.
This product was really amazing. No muss / no fuss. A tube cost about $25 — good for maybe 100 applications. Went on quickly and instant effect on-camera. Still interested in hearing what others use…
thanks.

I was able to install the ProRes presets into AME (thanks), but still don’t see them as drop-down options when I go to start a new sequence/project in APP…

thanks, chris,
Upon opening AME, Quicktime is NOT an option there — any ideas??
thx.

December 16, 2014 at 2:32 am in reply to: OT: Tripod Recommendations (you can debate, if you like)It’s true that a good set of sticks will outlast whatever camera you’re currently shooting with — maybe by 10 years. My Sachtler 18 says “made in West Germany” on the head. What you’re paying for in a high-dollar tripod is a silky-smooth movement. Think tracking a race car as it rotates thru an S-curve, a move where you have to pan and tilt at the same time. That type of move separates the contenders from the pretenders. The best place to demo tripods is a trade show: like NAB.
If you’re on a tighter budget, go for the expensive head, and buy cheaper/heavier legs (aluminum, as opposed to carbon fiber). Think of a tripod as 2 pieces: the head and the legs. -
Hey Dan,
First thing I’d do is study Graham Watson’s work — he’s pretty much the king of road cycling photojournalism…
I’d also consider bringing a monopod along for “deep” shots, and a very fast wide angle lens for up-close shots.
Good luck,
Ken

Awesome; that’s right up there with going to the Hunting & Fishing supply store to buy an (audio) boom holder (fishing pole holder) for $20 instead of $89.99

I did try that & no success…

So, are you saying that if I go back and change the backslash to an undescore on that file — my system will recognize it…??
thx.
