I’m very impressed with how nice it lets one scrub through frames.
Thanks,

There is another Sony app choice “Sony Vegas 8” that is now activated with the Shuttle Express.
So, now, the icon shows Primary and then 3 different choices with only on of them “Sony Vegas 8” with a pref set. How do I delete the other two?
I can leave them but that’s messy.Item next learn how to use this device.

December 3, 2007 at 10:28 pm in reply to: I just talked to Contour and have instructions here!I think you just toggled my brain. I just looked at the pref folder. I was making this too hard. I never linked the pref to the app. DUH! My whole day has been like that!
BTW: have you ever heard of an audio editor named Wavosaur? (wavosaur.com) It’s open source and seems fully packed. I sent them an email on Contour Shuttle and they want to make it work with their editor. -

I have just received a Shuttle Express and need a bit of your expertise in setting it up.
I installed as per Contour instructions for XP. I then used your instructions for Vegas 8 configuration. Shuttle is running as I see a icon that shows where focus is and it has the name I gave the config. But, now, I don’t have a clue on how to set up the keys. The Express only has 5 keys.
So, I have Buttons 1 thru 5 and the jog wheel.
Can you give me a clue on how to do this?
As a Vegas newbie making the jump to a Contour product is probably dumb but I got a deal on it. I love new toys!
I appreciate your patience.

Their site is having a problem. If you do a Google on shuttle pro the contour site is listed. If you click on the “Cached” you will get the site but you still can’t get what you want.
On the second listed Contour… site you can click on “More results…”
On this one I scrolled down to a driver V 2.nnn. I tried the link and download started. Here is link:https://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache:UQ4c29tY0mcJ:www.contourdesign.com/shuttlepro/shuttle_downloads.htm+site:www.contourdesign.com+shuttle+pro&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=us&lr=lang_en&client=firefox-a
If you find a phone number I’d suggest calling them. -
Magic DVD Ripper is about $40 and will convert to just about anything. Or, do a Google on FFMPEG for free download. FFMPEG is a Dos based program but it does just about everything you can think of.

Thanks to all on your responses. I see that I’m not the only one who views PP as “crap”. I had no idea that this post would almost start a firestorm. (We don’t need another one of those here in Southern CA)
I think I will let them do their PP stuff then grab the stills, and text and finish it the way I want to in Vegas. After all, they depend on me to edit all of their video parts.
We’ll see how it goes.

Jan,
Here is how I would proceed using Dependency Walker:
Install on the other PC where Vegas is operational. Run it against vegas.exe.
Then, install on dual Xeon PC where Vegas is failing. Run the same test. You should see some data that may lead to solution.I’m also wonder if you have all of the pre-requisites for Vegas.
I’m not certain but doesn’t there need to be a certain version of .NET installed?
