  • I had the same problem. Go to your system settings and make sure that the Video/Render capture settings are set to the same folder where you originally had all your rendered files. When you change projects and render folders if you don’t reset to the same render folder when you return to a project, it may cause this problem.

Thanks for the input. I’ll check out the Panasonic. I appreciate the kind words about the Sony, but I just don’t do any video work that needs color correction at all. I know that’s heresy but my work is ALL slideshows, at least right now. But I will check out the Sony, just to be sure.

Are you both saying that a regular non HD LCD display is better than an HD LCD for my SD work? I’ve been using a Sony Wega 20″ CRT all this time so that’s what I’ll be comparing to the LCD. I may eventually move to HD but now all I’m really doing is slideshows from pics, so i’m not really using FCP the way most of you are.

Remarkable and amazing! I cannot tell you how much time this will save me in my business.

Do you happen to know of a program that will allow me to take DVD’s that I produced and pull an editable version of a QT mov from it or a video format that I can edit in FCP. I use Studio Pro 4 to do my DVD’s and also a Tivo machine. This is NOT for copyrighted material.

Yes, I’m looking for a video monitor and not computer screen. Seems like i need to stay with the CRT. The Wega has been pretty accurate so far, but as i said, i don’t do broadcast quality. Thanks for the input.

No, just a black screen that says Waiting For Timecode when it usually has the movie that’s being captured. The log and capture screen has the Camera controls, I hit the Play button and the movie starts playing in the window, then i hit the capture now button and another screen appears in front of the log and capture window. That screen usually has the movie that i’m capturing. In this case it is only black. SOny’s camera’s have the pass through capability to allow digital conversion of analog material. I’m just wondering if i’ve got some setting wrong that wont’ let me capture it. Obvioulsy there’s no timecode because it’s an analog tape. Hope that’s enough info.
