It sounds like the best work flow is to import via AMA and then immediately transcode. I noticed there are different DNxHD resolutions depending on 1080 or 720 and frame rate.
Is it better to use the standard DNxHD or the one with the X?

    What is BWF audio?

Thank you kindly for your time and knowledge.

    Shane,

Everything is transcoded. To test I’ve put the sequence in a new bin and have transcoded again. Still having problems.

Tried to export an uncompressed/animation. I received an error stating temp disk is full. I moved this to another drive and I still receive the error. I simply renamed the new directory avid temp when I redirected.

Not sure how I can get this media off my drive. I need to get this to a client and am not sure how I can get this off my computer as I don’t have Mojo or a deck.

Everything is transcoded. I now receive an error stating long GOP cannont be encoded with QT reference, encode a QT movie. I don’t want to encode a huge file from Avid to put into Sorensen. I really like the features of Sorensen 6 and would like to utilize.

Thanks for the reply Shane. After a long investigation I realized Windows 7 used a generic driver for the video card. I found the proper Nvidia driver and it appears to be working great.

Still haven’t figured it out. Tried similar tests but to no avail. Very frustrating.

The problem appears to be on the Avid end. But here’s all the info. I’ve rendered from After Effects many different ways.

    1. Quicktime – Animation Codec – Millions of Colors +

    2. Video for Windows Movie – Millions of Colors – No Compression

    3. Quicktime – None –

    4. Tiff Sequence – Millions of Colors

    5. PNG Sequence

The import settings on the Avid are currently (note I’ve tried many scenarios)

    Aspect Ratio – Maintain, non-square

    Color Levels – RGB

File Fied Order – Even (Lower Field First)

    Alpha – Ignore

Could it be the DV codec in Xpress is making everything muddy. I looked at the Quicktime generated from AE and it’s tight. In Avid it’s a little pixelated and the text jagged, the overall image being a bit desaturated.
