OK, I do have 4GB in the computer computer running Vegas Pro 9.0c. Windows only reports 2GB. So that’s 4GB and 8 cores.

    John,

I will be trying what Steve suggested today, but now I’m even more confused. I opened up the computer and there are 8 memory slots. Every other one is populated with a 1GB memory stick!!?? This seems to tell me I actually have 4GB and not 2GB as the system is telling me. I’ve heard stories that Windows can only “see” 2GB. Is the system not telling me the truth?

This is a Supermicro X7DWA motherboard. And I’m running XP Pro.

Well, it says Recommended: 4605MB. It’s currently set at 4092MB for both Initial and Maximum. So do I boost that up to 4605MB or something higher?

This machine was custome built for my Video Toaster/SeppeEDIT NLE (which I am moving away from and to Vegas). I’ll open her up and see how many memory slots I have open.

    Thanks.

Thanks, John. It’s rough coming from another NLE where you know how to do all these basic things then trying to learn the same in a new NLE like Vegas. Next I have to learn how to put my images into 3D motion tracks for photo montages as such.

February 3, 2010 at 8:02 pm in reply to: Editing 4 Channels of Audio?

I think that’s what I have actually done. I now have 4 separate mono audio tracks and a 3-cam multi-cam edit track. NOW I can edit and have complete control ovre audio and video.

Thanks for the tips. I can now expand on my workflow.

Now that I have my 4 channels to mix as I need, when I enter Multicam they all become one. I tried offsetting them so I could drag the audio channels onto another track but it will not allow me to re-sync the audio tracks. Is this the wrong way of trying to do this? I need a quick way to do this as 99% of my projects will be the same type of editing. Is the workflow to finalize the audio edit before even going into Multicam? This seems like any rework work be almost impossible with thw audio.

    Thanks.

So it looks as though my workflow would be to first color correct all the cameras before creating a multi-cam single track (making any adjustments needed to the events. As far as editing the audio, in this case both cameras have 2 tracks of audio, do I need to duplicate these audio tracks so I can edit the audio? Just trying to find a quick way to work so I don’t waste time doing things the hard way.

    Thanks

    Thanks, John.

I’m trying to figure out a good workflow. A wedding. Opening video all on one track. Followed by a 2-cam ceremony. Can these be mixed and matchs in the same project? Can I only select the 2-cam tracks and create a multi-cam edit?

    Thanks.
