Upgrading a PC OS version is always scary. They all have new bugs to deal with. Unless you are a PC guru and have plenty of time to “tweak” everything, I hold off as long as I can. In some cases I’ve had to reinstall every program and plug-in and basically start from scratch. When I bought my iMac I was amazed how fast and easy it was to move from PCland to Macland.

If you can tell me what advantages WIN 10 have over WIN 7 as far as video production and SVP13, tell me now.

  • After reading these posts about WIN 8 and WIN 10, I think I’ll stick with WIN 7 since it DOES work with SVP13. I’ll go with the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”!

  • Yes GPU is off. I think I reinstalled back when this first started happening. I did move the proj into V12 and had no problem and the render was perfect. Bottom line, something in my system doesn’t like “13” for some reason. That’s where a M$ and Vegas guru would come in handy.

  • I guess the only answer for me to keep Vegas is to find a PC/Vegas guru who can remotely logon and check my system and settings. Because so far, all I’ve gotten from my sources are “maybe this” or “maybe that”. So if V13 really is more stable and works great with others, there has to be a gremlin in my setup.

  • Maybe you can tell me what your system has and what settings you have in V13. Because nobody has been able to provide such info to me. I don’t have any of these issues in V12.

If these .veg files from V11 are corrupt then all the files I’ve tried to open are corrupt. I can’t believe or don’t want to believe that all of my old V8, V9, V10 and V11 veg files are corrupt.

Most of my format is AVCHD or M2T from my Sony cams. My GoPros give me MP4 files and my DSLRs give me MOV file.
