Sure can but you’d better off using imac for receptionist
And get a real machine with an 800 port and always
Use externals as media drives.

Best to load it in the viewer and do it there. -K

Aren’t the image sequences numbered depending on your sequence time? My come out as 1001 and my sequence starts an an hour.

You aren’t running final cut server? That would do, but wouldn’t the video board be able to put out 2 signals from one feed? And what’s NEO 3d plugin? For Kona? Do you need a special codec?
Cineform 3d website has some good info but still in the dark about your hardware.

I do not believe there is any way to live capture like that in FCP. On location? I think it’s called from adobe will let you use your computer for a media drive but not final cut. I thought the same thing only using the uncontrolled device setting and there was no response or recording done, just time spent. When you shoot on a cam that uses tape, well you have to live with capturing. Or save time by logging the good takes and only capture those using batch capture.
But still, try it in fcp and see.

Or you could dupe the one that has it and use that duplicate as the alpha matte?

That is what made me get a wacom. I couldn’t stand it always messing me up when using masks, it it also annoying with Maya but then again a wacom helped me a lot. Try one.

Thanks for the response, I won’t be able to turn off hyperthreading since the machines are being used for maya and FCP. I guess as long as I have an answer for the powers that be, and we upgrade soon, it should be ok for the next 2 quarters. Thanks again Jens, Cheers

August 22, 2008 at 6:06 pm in reply to: Creating seamless continuous cam shots in after effectsWell, it took them a lot of planning. To go from one to the next you have to have the foresight to make it work. As far as the shot at :39 goes, it looks like a lens distortion the pic in the t.v., optics compensation? The seamlessness is really easy, they have used picture frames where they can, so really you will have to think backwards and every square you can use, use. And as you see the pics kinda go with each other to a degree, kinda matched up for best transitions. Also, the blurriness seems to be in the pics already, with some added for depth but not too much just mostly on the window frames.
You need high rez pics and a lot of time, hope this starts you off ! Good luck!

My notes on it: (At 2:15 I noticed the matte painting is goofy, angles are off-sizes are off, rotoscoping separates the car and bkgrnd at 2:50 and parenting layers together so they move the same (could easily be a master null in there somewhere). Might not ever need a cam.Reality? What did you make it?
